The kickoff for a job search workshop series is Thursday morning at the Stratton Library in Marietta. The series is scheduled for three consecutive Thursdays before the Job Fair on March 26 at the Switzer Library.
The workshop series on job search, resume writing and interviewing skills at Stratton Library is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. each day. The classes with instruction from CobbWorks include March 5: Job Searching; March 12: Resume Writing, and March 19: Interviewing. The CobbWorks Mobile Career Center is scheduled to be in the Stratton parking lot each Thursday in March from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Job Fair hosted by the Cobb County Public Library System is slated for Thursday, March 26, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Switzer Library near the Marietta Square. Top Cobb County employers will be represented at the Job Fair, including employers from office, retail, hospitality, marketing, law enforcement, education, human resources and government. More than 30 companies and organizations are signed up as Job Fair participants.
Organized by Stratton Library Branch Manager Pat Ball, the Job Fair and job search workshop series presented by CobbWorks are designed especially for helping unemployed and underemployed area residents improve job search skills. The library regularly assists many people searching for employment.
“This series of workshops is designed to assist with the total job search process,” she said. “Job seekers should come to the job fair with resumes and dressed for success.”
Participants signed up for the Job Fair include AFLAC, Caraustar, the FBI, WellStar Health System, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Executives and More, Flightworks Inc., Cobb County Government, Marietta City Schools, City of Marietta, Randstad, MDF Executive Marketing, Devereux Health Care, and Zodiac Service Americas.
