Seasonal craft workshops, movies, games and other events are on the Cobb County Public Library System calendar as Cobb County and Marietta students are on the two-week winter break.

HappyHolidaysThe Cobb County and Marietta City school districts, as well as some area private schools, will be on winter break when bells ring at the end of school Friday until early January. Cobb and Marietta students return to class on Tuesday, January 6.

Events on the Cobb libraries calendar during the winter break include:

The Comic Book Sale is open through December at Switzer Library. We have a large collection of comic books on sale during library hours.

The Family Movies series at Switzer Library on Saturdays at 3 p.m. includes December 20: How the Grinch Stole Christmas; December 27: The Muppet Christmas Carol; and January 3: Balto.

A screening of The Nativity Story on Monday, December 22 at 6 p.m., at the Switzer Library is the final film in ’Tis the Season Movies Series.

The Super Saturday Matinee series at Powder Springs Library starts at 3 p.m. with screenings on December 20: Around the World in 80 Days; and December 27: Swiss Family Robinson.

Board Game Fun at the Library! at Acworth Library on Monday, December 22 and Monday, December 29, noon to 2 p.m. both dates.

Teen Cinema & Anime Club at East Cobb Library on Saturday, January 3, 2 p.m. Join other teen anime and film enthusiasts for a fun variety of films and activities. For grades 6-12. Free; no registration is required. For more information, please call (770) 509-2730.

Downloading Free Magazines from Zinio, a free class at East Cobb Library on Monday, January 5, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Brown Bag Lunch Film Series starts in January at noon on Mondays at Switzer Library with a showing on January 5 of The Monuments Men. Bring your lunch and settle in for a mid-day treat!

School Age Movie and Craft at Acworth Library on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. with seasonal programs on December 24 and December 31.

LEGOmania at Acworth Library on Tuesday, December 23, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
