Happy March, friends!

I can’t believe it’s a new month already! And do you know what’s special about March? It’s Women’s History Month!

Women’s History Month is a time to remember the contributions of women throughout history and today. That means we think about all the wonderful things women have done and can do! Isn’t that great? So in honor of Women’s History Month, I will choose winners about women this month.

My first winner is called Independent dames by Laurie Halse Anderson. This is a really neat book about the women and girls who helped our country during the Revolutionary War. Lots of people have heard of George Washington, but do you know who Nancy Hart or “Mom” Rinker were? You can find out about them and lots of other amazing women in this book!

I hope you’ll visit your local library and check out this book. Or you can ask your librarian to help you find other books on famous women. You can also visit these websites to find information: http://womenshistorymonth.gov/ and http://www.timeforkids.com/minisite/womens-history-month.

Happy reading!

Your friend,

Willard
