Happy Monday!

My winner this week is a courageous story! Courageous is another word for brave. It is called Saint George and the dragon retold by Margaret Hodges and illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman. This book won the Caldecott Medal in 1985.

Saint George is a brave knight who defeats the dragon who has been terrorizing the countryside. The story of Saint George and the dragon is a very old story. It is a legend that is hundreds of years old! I think it must be a very good story if it is hundreds of years old, and people still like to read it. I hope you will give this book a try!

Happy reading!

Your friend,
