Good morning, everyone! And Happy Presidents’ Day!

Presidents’ Day is celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of George Washington’s birthday. George Washington was America’s first president. He was president for eight years: 1789-1797. His birthday is February 22, 1732. Abraham Lincoln’s birthday is also in February! It is February 12, 1809. Abraham Lincoln was president during the Civil War: 1861-1865. Presidents’ Day is celebrated in February because it is the month two very famous presidents were born.

I have a fun winner to share with you in honor of Presidents’ Day! It is called Madam President by Lane Smith. It is about a little girl who dreams of becoming the president. In real life, there has never been an American president who is a girl. Maybe someday there will be a girl president! That would be wonderful! Would you like to be president someday?

The library is open today even though it is a holiday so you can stop by and find this book! I hope you will read a book about presidents on Presidents’ Day!

Happy reading!

Your friend,
