Dewey, the Cobb County Library System’s mascot, loves to read! He reads picture books, easy reader books, chapter books, nonfiction books, everything! Would you like to know what Dewey’s reading? Then you’re in luck! Every Monday you’ll find out what Dewey’s reading!

So, what’s Dewey reading today…?

Dewey’s reading The Dangerous Alphabet by Neil Gaiman! This book’s call number is JP Gaiman. Some authors, like Neil Gaiman, write a lot of books. If you search for Neil Gaiman in the catalog, you will find books for children, teens, and adults. What if you only want to search for his children’s books? Can you do that?

Yes, you can! In the old catalog, you use Power Search. There is a link for Power Search on the library website’s homepage. Under Power Search, you scroll down to “Age Level” and choose “juvenile”. Then when you search, you will only see children’s books!

If you are searching in the new catalog, it is a little different. You search for Neil Gaiman first. Then when you have a big list of books, you choose a limiter from the list on the left-hand side of the page (a limiter lets you limit, or refine, your search). “Age Level” is toward the bottom of the list. You choose “juvenile” and the list of books will only show children’s books!
