All summer long we’ve learned about the nonfiction science books that Dewey’s been reading. But Dewey loves to read all kinds of different books! You can find picture books, easy reader books, chapter books, and nonfiction books at the library.

So, what’s Dewey reading today…?

Dewey’s reading A Pet for Pete by James Dean! This book’s call  number is JE Dean. The JE stands for “juvenile easy” or easy reader books. Easy reader books are shelved in alphabetical order by the author’s last name just like picture books.

Easy reader books are great books to get when you are learning how to read! What kind of pet will Pete the Cat get? Do you think the cover of the book gives us a clue?
