(Marietta, Ga. – September 27, 2018) West Cobb Regional Library will be closed for a renovation project from Monday, October 1 through Sunday, November 4, 2018. The library will re-open on Monday, November 5th.
The West Cobb renovation includes new paint and carpet for the facility that opened in May 2002. The library is located at 1750 Dennis Kemp Lane, Kennesaw 30152. The library is near the intersection of Stilesboro and Mars Hill roads and Northwest Family YMCA.
The temporary closure of the West Cobb library will coincide with the return of Sunday hours, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., on October 7 at the larger regional Cobb County libraries, including the Mountain View and South Cobb libraries. Sunday hours at the Switzer Library in downtown Marietta started September 9th.
Kemp Memorial Library will be open Sundays from October 7 through November 4 to serve the West Cobb region during the renovation project. The library is located at 4029 Due West Road NW, Marietta 30064, near Due West Elementary School.
The West Cobb location will be open Sunday afternoons – for a seven-days-a-week schedule – beginning on November 11th.
There will be no public computer access at the West Cobb library as of Thursday, September 27 through the completion of the renovation project.
Cobb libraries also near the West Cobb location include the Acworth Library, 4569 Dallas St., Acworth 30101, and Kennesaw Library, 2250 Lewis St., Kennesaw 30144.
“This fall season is a great time to explore and re-discover Cobb County libraries over the weekends,” said Jonathan McKeown, Associate Director of Library Services.
“We encourage Cobb families to make visiting public libraries throughout the community part of your daily routine,” McKeown said. “Your public libraries offer events and activities in person and you can connect any time with the library’s digital resources – eBooks, streaming videos, databases on business, science, history and much more.”
