Vinings Library is hosting the WellStar Heart Health Seminar & Free Health Fair on Saturday, February 2nd from 1 pm to 4 pm.

A representative from WellStar’s Cardiovascular Program, Know Your Heart, will present an informational seminar focused on general cardiac anatomy,  risk factor modification, and a review of the signs and symptoms of heart disease. Options for screening and early detection of heart disease at WellStar will also be presented during the event’s first hour.

After the seminar, WellStar will offer free health screenings until 4 pm. Health screenings include Glucose, Total Cholesterol and Blood Pressure.

February is American Heart Health Month. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.  The good news is that 80 percent of cardiac events may be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
