Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center is open with storytimes, music, photography classes, classic movies and more happening during the first week.

Some of the upcoming events at Sewell Mill include:

  • Hour of Code from December 4th – December 7th from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm: Celebrate 2017 Computer Science Education Week by learning basic coding skills. Recommended for grades 2-7.
  • Baby Storytime on December 5th from 10:15 am – 10:45 am: Enjoy a creative storytime of reading, rhyming, and music for babies up to 18 months of age.
  • Writer’s Group on December 5th from 6 pm – 7 pm: Network with writers of all walks of life. This group will meet weekly.
  • Teen Volunteer Orientation on December 6th from 2 pm – 5 pm: Teens ages 15-17 can make an appointment to learn how to become a teen library volunteer at Sewell Mill Library and Culture Center.
  • What Does an Orchestra Instructor Listen To on December 8th from 1 pm – 2 pm: Conductor Timothy Verville will be sharing his personal insights into some of his favorite music. If you can’t make it from 1 – 2, there will be another presentation from 7 pm – 8 pm.
  • Art House Cinema on December 9th from 11 am – 2 pm: Patrons 18 and older are invited to join us for a showing of Stanley Kubrik’s The Killing and a discussion after the film.
  • Creating Comics Workshop on December 9th from 3 pm – 5 pm: Learn how to make your own comic with this free workshop presented by the creators of the comic series Lung Girl. Ages 14 and up. Space is limited. E-mail James.Mitchell@cobbcounty.org or call 770-509-4977 to register.
  • Black Box Theater Concert on December 9th from 4 pm – 5:30 pm: Atlanta based Electro Punk Quartet The Private Pageant will be putting on an unforgettable concert in our black box theater.
