…and have fun at your library Wednesday!

Children’s programs scheduled for Wednesday, July 30 include crafts, movies and story times as some of the final events of the Cobb County Public Library System’s 2014 Summer Reading Program.

Programs on the library’s calendar for Wednesday include:

Miss Jan’s Balloon Animals, a children’s program led by former Cobb library employee Jan Wills, at Sweetwater Valley Library, 10:30 a.m.

Fizz Boom Kids Picnic! at Powder Springs Library, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bring a blanket to sit on and a sack lunch. Miss Tara will provide the drinks and popsicles. It’s an old fashioned picnic with three-legged races, Simon Says, Red Rover, hula hooping and other outdoor games. All ages.

Makers Day’ A Stratton Summer Science Event at Stratton Library, noon to 1 p.m. Make robots or rockets. Please bring clean containers or recyclables.

Fizz, Boom, Movies! Adventures of Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Yoda! at Switzer Library, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join us for this 2008 cartoon movie.

Dig into Legos! at East Cobb Library, 3:30 p.m. Let your imagination soar with Legos of all shapes and sizes! For ages 3 and up.

Library Adventures: Movie Time! at West Cobb Regional Library, 3:30 p.m. Join us for a feature length film and refreshments.

Parks and Recreation Program – ‘The Magic of Science!’ at Gritters Library, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. A special program by Cobb PARKS.

Ready, Aim, Fire! Catapult Workshop at East Marietta Library, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Learn how to make your own handheld catapult and the science behind how it works. Ages 6 to 12. Supplies are limited, so please reserve your spot by calling (770) 509-2711 or at the Youth Services Reference Desk.
