History

The Windy Hill Library is a small satellite library located within the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Windy Hill Community Center.  The library opened in 2014 and was the Library System’s first facility collaboration with the County’s Parks and Recreation Department.

Windy Hill is the only library in the county library system to specifically serve those with special needs.  Many of Windy Hill Library patrons do not hold jobs or attend school but they come to the library to socialize, to learn, to share and to connect. Windy Hill provides a comfortable environment for patrons of all abilities and emphasizes inclusion. The focus of Windy Hill Library is to provide the same services that are offered at all Cobb County Public Library System locations, with modifications and adaptations, to suit the interests, needs and capabilities of the special needs community in Cobb County. Some of the programs offered include Tech Tuesday, Sensory Story Time, Wellness Wednesdays and DIY workshops.

While the Windy Hill Library is free and open to all to use, the Windy Hill Community Center offers a fee based adult day program as well as fee based summer and school break camps for youth. More information on the Community Center can be found here.
