Sam A. Williams, former president of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, will lead a program on “The CEO as Urban Statesman” at the East Cobb Library on Tuesday, June 27, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
A nationally recognized expert on urban competitiveness, Williams covers case studies in his book, The CEO as Urban Statesman (Mercer University Press), to support his message that business leaders can use their skills to provide solutions for public policy challenges.
Dr. Kenneth Harmon, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kennesaw State University, will serve as moderator for the event.
The June 27th program is part of the Conversations series presented by the Cobb County Public Library System under the 2017 Summer Reading Program’s “Build a Better World” theme. The program is free and open to the public.
Mr. Williams served as Metro Atlanta Chamber president for 17 years. He was a partner for two decades with Portman Properties, the global architecture and development company. A member of the faculty of the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University, he holds degrees from the Harvard Business School and Georgia Tech.
Dr. Harmon is a former dean of KSU’s Coles College of Business.
