February 13th is this month’s start date for Gale Courses offered by Cobb County Public Libraries. The online, instructor-led courses have a variety of topics to choose from that are free for Cobb County library cardholders.

Gale Courses are six-week, 12-session classes. New sessions start monthly. You can take the interactive Gale Courses at your own pace anytime from your home, office or anywhere else with Internet access.

Gale’s theme for the new year is “This Year I Will” to inspire people to learn a new skill, from learning new languages to learning how to use digital resources. There are over 350 courses to choose from.

Among the courses that are offered are several to help creative people better familiarize themselves with editing software that is available at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center. Our “Creative Studios” users may benefit from several classes that Gale offers:

Introduction to Photoshop CC: Learn how to use Photoshop while accessing it from the Creative Cloud (CC).

Mastering Your SLR Camera: Learn about the many features and controls of DSLR cameras.

Blogging and Podcasting for Beginners: Learn how to create, manage, and promote your own blog and audio and video podcast.
