The National Parks Coast to Coast: The 100 Best Hikes by Tes Alvarez combines breathtaking photos from forty-four national parks along with thorough hike descriptions and maps with GPS co-ordinates, hiking tips, and more.

Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide book publisher in the world, visits all 59 parks in National Parks of America: Experience America’s 59 National Parks by Becky Ohlsen, a comprehensive introduction to the country’s cherished natural expanses. Read about the best activities and trails, places to stay, descriptions of local wildlife, and suggested itineraries to start you on your way.

Cobb County PARKS Natural Resources Program will present Hiking and Backpacking 101 workshops for pre-teens and teenagers at Cobb libraries. Learn the proper way to pack a backpack, plan a hike or backpacking trip, and discover all of the great places Georgia has for outdoor adventures: Kennesaw Library on Monday, June 13 at 3 pm, Kemp Memorial Library on Tuesday, June 14 at 2 pm and Powder Springs Library on Tuesday, June 21 at 3:30 pm. Click here to find a Cobb County PARKS trail to visit this summer.
