Reading is one of the simplest things you can do to keep your mind active. Research shows that reading reduces stress, strengthens the brain, improves mood and memory, and increases empathy. Parents and grandparents, research shows that reading to your child 20 minutes a day stimulates and strengthens your child’s language and literacy skills. And modeling great reading behavior is one of the best ways to grow a child who loves to read!
