Spring Break is April 2-6 for students and staff of the Cobb County and Marietta City school districts, and some area private schools and homeschoolers. The Cobb County Public Library has a jam-packed schedule full of fun and adventures for kids of all ages!

STEAM Break at Switzer Library Monday through Friday, noon – 1 pm. Each day of the week we will be exploring a different letter of STEAM with an hour-long activity. Intended for kids ages K-5. (770) 528-2320. Activities include:

Star Wars: Rebels at Switzer Library Monday through Friday, 1 pm – 2:30 pm. Each day, immediately following our STEAM activities, we will be watching two to three episodes of the second season of the hit Disney “Star Wars” show (TV-Y7). Family Virtual Reality at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center on Monday from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Try out our different featured virtual reality experiences with HTC’s Vive virtual reality system and Steam VR. (770) 509-2711.

Fort Attack at Tween STEAM at Kennesaw Library on Tuesday, 3:30 – 4:30 pm. Kids ages 7 – 11 are invited to build a fort and then defend it from catapult attacks! (770) 528-2529.
littleBits Invention Challenge at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center on Wednesday, 2:30 – 4:30 pm. Kids ages 8 – 12 will test their critical thinking and problem solving skills by trying out a littleBits invention challenge that will focus on collaboration, communication and creativity. Family Fun Time: A Poet’s Heart at East Cobb Library on Wednesday, 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm. Fun time for the whole family can include books, activities, a short film, parachute play, music and a craft. (770) 509-2730.
The Adventures of Walter the Waterdrop at Mountain View Regional Library on Thursday, 11:15 am – 12:15 pm. A program presented by the Cobb County Water Efficiency Program teaches kids from preschool to second grade all about the water cycle through the adventures of Walter the Waterdrop. Journey into the Past at Kennesaw Library on Friday, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. JoyEllen Freeman, an archivist from Kennesaw State University will be leading this program that highlights letters, books, diaries, photographs, and much more from the family treasures collection from the Kennesaw State University Archives and Bentley Rare Book Museum.
