Several frighteningly fun events are on the Cobb County Public Libraries calendar for children through the end of October.

Spooked by Books at Kennesaw Library on Monday, October 22 from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm will feature Special Collections Curator JoyEllen Freeman from Kennesaw State University. We will be talking about Gothic Literature and rare book mysteries. Bring your favorite scary book to present to the group! For grades 3 and up.
Tween STEAM: Movable Skeleton Hand at Powder Springs Library on October 22 from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. We will be learning about how tendons work and basic human anatomy by making a movable skeleton hand that tweens will get to take home!
Monster Sleepover! at Vinings Library on Tuesday, October 23 from 6 pm – 8 pm. This sleepover will feature blacklight fun, spooky slime, Halloween stories and much more! For kids – and the whole family.
Spooky Storytime: A 200th Birthday Celebration of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein at Kennesaw Library on Thursday, October 25 from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. We will read fun spooky stories, building our own monsters, and much more. For ages 6 and up. This program is not intended to be scary and will focus on the silly things that most of us enjoy about Halloween. However, please be mindful that this may not be a program for children who are very sensitive.
Spooky Slime at Stratton Library on October 25 from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm. We will be making slime while having a scary good time. Suitable for ages 5 and up.
Make it Thursday at Powder Springs Library on October 25 from 4 pm – 5 pm. We will be creating our own monsters in our “Roll a Monster” event. We’ll roll a dice and construct our monsters based on what number we roll.
Hocus Pocus at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center on Friday, October 26 from 4 pm – 6 pm. Join us for the classic Halloween movie “Hocus Pocus” (PG), a witchy good film about teenager Max Dennison, his little sister Dani, and their friend Allison running amuck from three witches on Halloween.
Sensory Storytime Trick-or-Treat Costume Party at Windy Hill Library on Tuesday, October 30 from 11 am – 11:45 am. Come in your favorite costume for our interactive sensory storytime. This event is ideal for special needs children and their families, preschoolers and toddlers. 770-528-2677
#TeenSpace – Zombie Apocalypse Breakout at Mountain View Regional Library on October 30 from 5 pm – 6 pm. See if you and your teammates have the critical thinking skills to solve our elaborate puzzles to unlock a box that will save the human race from turning into zombies. Little Bookworms Preschool Storytime at Gritters Library on Wednesday, October 31 will be Halloween-themed. We will have a costume parade and feature trick-or-treating.
