ELMThe Enrichment of Life Movement (ELM) seniors’ Book Discussion class with Cobb County Public Library System staff members returns in September.

ELM classes for seniors 50 and up will next be in session, for eight consecutive Tuesdays, from September 16 through November 4. The registration deadline for fall 2014 ELM classes is Friday, August 29.

The Book Discussion w/CCPLS class is slated for Tuesdays from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Library staff members have led the class discussions for several years. ELM was launched 40 years ago.

What is ELM?: “ELM is a non-profit, non-denominational, learning organization that offers a full day of over 60 classes on consecutive Tuesdays for eight week sessions in the fall (September-October), winter (January-February), and spring (April-May)…ELM is operated and staffed primarily by volunteers.”

WHERE:  ELM is hosted by the First United Methodist Church of Marietta at 56 Whitlock Avenue SW.

FEE: The ELM registration fee is $40 per 8-week session – for up to three classes for the $40 fee.

Other classes in the fall 2014 session include Photography Basics, Modern British Drama, Organize Your Clutter, Art of Fiction: The Great American Novel I; Real Estate for Seniors – What Makes It Unique, Open Forum on Investments, Chair Caning, and much more. Morning and afternoon classes are scheduled.
