The inaugural Self-Published Author Workshop and Sale is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Switzer Library in Marietta.

Sponsored by the Cobb Library Foundation, the event will feature self-published writers, small publishing houses and local authors. The Saturday workshop is free and open to the public.

AuthorWorkshopMarietta-based author Rhetta Akamatsu will lead the workshop. She will discuss her experience as a self-published writer and in dealing with and negotiating with publishers. The workshop will include  her advice and ideas on promotion, social media strategy and communicating with readers. She is the author of Haunted Marietta, T’aint Nobody’s Business If I Do: Blues Women Past and Present, and The Irish Slaves.
