Located at 2051 Lower Roswell Road, east of the South Marietta Parkway, East Marietta Library has served the community since 1967. The new building, a joint-use facility of the Cobb County Public Library System and Cobb County PARKS, is slated to open in early December.

Cobb County library staff will move the East Marietta Library’s collection to the new Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center constructed adjacent to the older facility. The old facility will be demolished and the site will be turned into parking spaces.

The new facility is designed to serve as a destination for all ages and to provide traditional and innovative library services. Sewell Mill Library and Cultural Center will include study/training rooms, a conference room, dedicated children’s and teen spaces, a maker studio, a community room, an art gallery and art classrooms, an outdoor amphitheater and a black box theater.
