Junior Ranger Day at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is Saturday morning, April 21st from 10 am to noon.
The annual event at park’s Visitors Center at the start of National Park Week 2018 is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required by Thursday, April 19th.
From the National Park Service:
This year’s theme is “A Journey Through History” and children of all ages (even the young at heart!) are invited to attend. This journey will allow participants to travel through the different periods of Kennesaw Mountain’s rich history. The day’s activities will take you through hunting/tracking training with an 18th century settler, infantry drills with a Civil War soldier, conservation work with a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, and finally modern day fun with a U.S Park Ranger! Programming is ideal for, but not limited to grades 1st – 5th.
