Poets Read, a new monthly program at the Switzer Library in downtown Marietta featuring published and aspiring poets, will launch Tuesday, March 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The program will start with Open Mic for the first half-hour. The guest readers – Lisa Allender, Kathy (K.B.) Kincer and Lisa Ezzard – will be featured starting at 7 p.m. Poets Read is free and open to the public.
The three guest readers have a range of writing and life experiences:
Lisa Allender – Lisa Nanette Allender, a part of the Atlanta poetry scene for over 20 years, has had poems published in numerous online journals and in-print anthologies. She is a writer, an actor, and an activist.
Kathy (K.B.) Kincer – Nominated for Georgia author of the year for her chapbook After the Transplant, K.B. Kincer earned her PhD from Georgia State University. Her work has appeared in The Healing Muse, Poet Lore, Atlanta Review, and elsewhere. Besides teaching, she directs and co-hosts melodically challenged, a nationally syndicated poetry radio show.
Lisa Ezzard – Lisa Ezzard is a teacher and poet whose latest book, Vintage, follows the growing seasons at Tiger Mountain Vineyards. Her work has appeared in Where the Sweet Waters Flow: Contemporary Appalachian Nature Writing, Exit 271: Your Georgia Writer’s Resource and others.
