Celebrate African American History Month at the library
The Cobb County Public Library System is honoring the contributions and lasting legacies of African Americans throughout history with several events during January and February. All events are free and open to the public.
The highlight of the library system’s celebration will be the second-annual African American History Month Gala on Saturday, February 11 at 2 pm at the Central Library. This informal event will feature performances by the Zion Liturgical Dancers, the AL Burruss Unity Drummers, the South Cobb High School Steppers, saxophonist Ravan Durr, and special readings by Mrs. Deane Bonner. Upcoming "Discover Your Health" Programs
The Cobb County Public Library System is hosting a series of educational speakers on healthy topics. In February, we'll hear from Dawn Florence of the Cobb Extension Office and the 4-H Youth Summit Team, who will talk about the importance of healthy eating.
