Switzer Library

Switzer Library in Marietta will be undergoing renovations beginning in July 2019. The library will be closed for two months beginning Monday, July 1, 2019 and will reopen for Limited Services on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Nearby libraries include Sewell Mill, Sibley, and Stratton.

Book donations will not be accepted at Switzer Library starting Saturday, June 15, 2019.

Items on hold that are not picked up by Sunday, June 30, 2019 will be sent to Sewell Mill Library.

Limited Services include:

  • Small collections of adult, youth, and media material available for checkout
  • Returns via book drop
  • Hold pickup
  • Account management
  • Small number of public computers
  • Printing and photocopying
  • 3D printer services
  • Small collection for the Georgia Room plus 2 microfilm readers
  • Phone service

New Features of the renovated library will include:

  • Two makerspaces – one for adults, one for teens
  • Dedicated teen space
  • Family computing space on the main floor
  • New children’s programming room
  • Outdoor plaza adjacent to the Children’s Room with seating and garden area
  • Relocation to Switzer Library of Windy Hill Library’s special needs collection and services
  • Enlarged Georgia Room

Acworth Library

Acworth Library is closing in anticipation of the opening of North Cobb Regional Library in September 2019. Acworth Library’s last day of operation will be Saturday, July 13, 2019. Nearby libraries include Gritters, Kemp, and West Cobb Regional.

Book donations will not be accepted at Acworth Library starting Saturday, June 15, 2019.

Items on hold that are not picked up by Saturday, July 13, 2019 will be sent to West Cobb Regional Library.


Kennesaw Library

Kennesaw Library is closing in anticipation of the opening of North Cobb Regional Library in September 2019. Kennesaw Library’s last day of operation will be Saturday, July 13, 2019. Nearby libraries include Gritters, Kemp, and West Cobb Regional.

Book donations will not be accepted at Kennesaw Library starting Saturday, June 15, 2019.

Items on hold that are not picked up by Saturday, July 13, 2019 will be sent to West Cobb Regional Library.


North Cobb Regional Library

Construction has begun on North Cobb Regional Library! The new 25,000-square-foot library will be built at the intersection of Old 41 Highway and Blue Springs Road across from North Cobb High School. The facility will be a consolidation of the Acworth and Kennesaw public libraries constructed in the mid-1960s.
