Mark Tempest

A maritime security expert will give a presentation on modern piracy at Switzer Library in Marietta on Saturday afternoon, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.

The Modern Day Piracy on the High Seas program featuring retired Navy Reserve Captain Mark J. Tempest is presented by the Cobb County Public Library System’s Outreach and Special Services Department in honor of Veterans Day. The 30-year veteran served in the western Pacific during the Vietnam War and active duty for Desert Storm and Kosovo. He is also a retired attorney with experience in cases involving maritime, environmental and other commercial matters related to the oil and gas industry.
