Upcoming programs include K-9 officers, the Medical Examiner’s office, safety programs by Mumferd, and more:

Forensics 101 at West Cobb Regional Library on Monday, June 17 from 7 pm – 8:30 pm. Mike Gerhard from the Medical Examiner’s Office will be talking about forensic science and what Medical Examiners do. Due to the graphic content of this program, participants must be 13 or older. Learn What it Takes to Be a Veterinarian at Lewis A. Ray Library on Tuesday, June 18 from 2 pm – 3 pm.  Dr. Kathy Baker and her team at Lucy’s Veterinary Care will be talking about how to get into a career in veterinary science. 770-801-5335.

Community Helpers Series Safety Education at Stratton Library on Wednesday, June 19 from 11 am – 1 pm. Our friendly firefighter storytime will introduce kids to community helpers, featuring Freddie the Firetruck, robot car, and a mystery reader. 770-528-2522.

Mumferd Learns to Exercise at Gritters Library on Monday, June 24 from 11 am – noon. In this bilingual storytime, Kaiser Permanente Theater will introduce kids to everything they need to know about how to stay healthy. 770-528-2524.

CSI at Gritters Library on Monday, June 24 from 6 pm – 7 pm. Cobb County Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit and Community Affairs Unit will be talking about different forensic science techniques. Participants will get a hands-on experience solving a mock crime scene. Ages 11 and up. 770-528-2524.

Community Helpers Series Safety Education at Stratton Library on Wednesday, June 26 from 11 am – 1 pm. In this storytime, we’ll be learning about friendly police officers and introducing kids to “Cobbie the Cop Car” to teach them what our police officers do for the community. 770-528-2522.

Mumferd Learns How to be Safe in Public at Gritters Library on Wednesday, July 24 from 11 am – 11:30 am. Kaiser Permanente Theater will be teaching kids about public safety, what to do when crossing the street, how to find help if they get separated from their grown up, and more. 770-528-2524.

Coffee With a Cop at East Cobb Library on Saturday, July 27 from 11 am – noon. Kids will get to meet an officer from Cobb County Police Department and will be given the opportunity to have all of their questions about public safety and what police do every day answered. 770-509-2730.
