Value Line, one of the world’s top investment research resources, provides data and up-to-date analysis on more than 3,500 stocks and news spanning across 100 industries. By providing online access to Value Line, the Library System is making available investment and financial information anytime, virtually anywhere. This service is replacing print Value Line print subscriptions at Cobb libraries.
Cobb County library cardholders also now have free access to lynda.com, an online learning site featuring 3,000 courses led by experts that include more than 130,000 videos. Courses offered by Lynda for Libraries include a range of topics (business, design, web development and multimedia skills) and software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and open source applications) to help you achieve personal and professional goals. You complete lynda.com courses at your own pace.
The timing of these two new digital resources going live for Cobb County library cardholders lines up with September’s Library Card Sign-up Month. A central message of the month is library cards are a key to information sources adding value for the community. With a Cobb County library card, you can access digital library resources from your home, office, or anywhere else with online access.
Cobb Digital Services Librarian Burr Osoinach says the launch of lynda.com and Value Line in the online databases collection on the Library System’s website, www.cobbcat.org, is an exciting development for library.
“Lynda.com and Value Line are dynamic resources designed to meet the needs of our library patrons seeking timely information, from home, on tablets and smartphones, or at the library,” Osoinach said. “For so many Cobb residents, Value Line and lynda.com alone are a compelling reason to have a Cobb library card.”
