Do you know when libraries will reopen?

No. We do not currently have a definitive date when libraries will reopen. We will update this when we have that information.

What if my items are due? Will I accrue late fees?

The due dates for all checked-out materials are being extended to May 31, 2020. This includes DVDs, WiFi-Hotspots, Intetlibrary Loans, Park Passes, and everything else we circulate. There will be no late fees on materials that were originally due during the closure period. We will extend the May 31 due date further if library branches remain closed.

Can I drop off my materials in outdoor book drops?

No. Outdoor book drops will be closed during this time period. We ask that you hold onto your materials until we reopen.

Are there any library resources I can use while branches are closed?

Yes. The Library provides a wide array of digital offerings, including e-books, research databases, and access to a multitude of online resources. Please see the bottom of this FAQ for an extensive list of digital resources.

What if some of my holds are ready for pick up?

Holds that are listed as ready for pick-up will be held at the branches until we reopen. Please disregard any pending pick-up dates listed in your account and please disregard any email or phone pick up notices you may have received.

My library card is about to expire. How can I renew?

All library card accounts that have recently expired, or were set to expire over the next three months, have been renewed and extended until June 30, 2020.

Are you still doing Interlibrary Loans?

No. We are currently NOT taking any new outside Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests. ILL books that are currently checked out to patrons have been renewed and now have a due date of May 31, 2020. This date will be extended if branch closings are also extended. There will NOT be any late fees associated with ILLs during this time. We ask that you hold onto your materials as the library branches and the outside book drops have been closed and are unavailable.

I have a question about my account. Is there someone I can contact?

If you have any questions about your account or how to access digital resources please reach out to We will attempt to respond as soon as possible. Please note that responses could be delayed due to the large volume of requests we are receiving.
