What is my PIN?

Your PIN is your 4 digit birthday using the month and day you were born. For example, if you were born on February 4, your PIN would be 0204.

Can I change my PIN number?

Yes, visit the library or call customer service Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., (excluding holidays) at 770-528-2326.

I changed my PIN and I forgot what I changed it to.

What if I do not know my student number?

You will need to ask your teacher. Library staff are not able to give out student numbers.

Do I have to have my student number with me to check out books on my PASS account?

No, you just need to know your student number and PIN.

What is the difference between a student number, a student ID, and a lunch number?

Nothing! They all mean the same thing at the library.

My teacher has assigned our entire class homework to use a database and it is asking me for library card number. I thought I could just use my student number.

Your student number works the same way as a library card number.

What if I do not want my child to have a Library PASS account?

Parents may choose to opt their child out by completing an opt-out form and returning it to a library branch. If you are unable to visit a library branch, please call our customer service department, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., (excluding holidays) at 770-528-2326.

Note: Parents that choose to opt their child out of this program limit their child’s access to free public library resources. Students may be encouraged to use Public Library resources to complete assignments to support learning and promote academic success.

How many books can I check out at one time?

You may check out 5 total items at a time.

Can I check out DVD’s using my Library PASS account?

Students may only check out books, audiobooks, Playaways, and music CD’s. Students are limited to checking out only 1 audio item at a time, Students may check out up to 5 total items on their Library PASS account.

For example, a student may check out:

  • 5 books or
  • 4 books and 1 audiobook or
  • 4 books and 1 music CD or
  • 4 books and 1 Playaway
Are there any other items I cannot check out using my Library PASS account?

Hot spots, museum and park passes, and DVD’s cannot be checked out with a Library PASS account. Remember, students may have both a Library PASS account and a regular library card.

The book/eBook I want to checkout is not in your system. How do I make a suggestion for the library to buy it?

If you would like to recommend a title for the library to purchase, fill out this form.

Can I return a public library book at my school library?

Yes you can, but it may take a couple of weeks for the item to arrive and be checked in at the library. If the item(s) are more than 45 days late, your account will be blocked from checking out additional materials until the items arrive at the public library and are checked in.

I returned the public library’s book to my school learning commons by mistake.

Please visit your school’s learning commons or media center and tell your media specialist.

The item I want says it is on hold. How do I request it?
What if I cannot return my books by the due date?

Please return them as soon as possible to enable other students to have access.

How much are the fines if I return a book late?

There are no fines on Library PASS accounts. However, any item more than 45 days late will be considered lost and result in the PASS account being billed for the catalog price of the item plus a $10 processing fee. You will not be able to check out any new items until you return the item or pay the catalog price plus processing fee.

I have fines on my library card. Can I still use my PASS account?

Yes. So long as your PASS account is not blocked, you can use it to check out items even if your regular library card is blocked.

What is the difference in a regular library card and PASS account?

A regular library card allows a student to check out more materials, and allows checkout for DVDs.

I lost a book and now I cannot check any books out. Help!

Please try to find the book as soon as possible because another student may need it. If you cannot find it, please visit the library and pay for the book, along with the processing fee. You may also call customer service Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., (excluding holidays) at 770-528-2326 and arrange to mail a check.

My teacher told me I have a lost book. I think I returned it to the library a long time ago. What should I do?

Can I use the library’s computers to type my paper and do research?

Yes. Students are allowed two hours of computer time a day. Please check the hours of the library you would like to visit.

Ready to log your minutes? CCSD and MCS students can log minutes on Biblionasium.

MCS students

When I went to Lynda.com it asked for a credit card. I thought it was free.

All of our library resources are free! If you are asked to pay for an item, you have somehow drifted away from our website.

How do I register for a Gale Course?

I do not have internet at home. How can I use the databases if I do not have a computer?

You can use computers at your local branch library with your PASS account ID and PIN. You may also access the library’s databases at your school.
