Ashley Miller is co-founder of South Cobb Regional Library’s Anime Club

Calling all costumers and geek pop culture fashion fans! The Anime Club at South Cobb Regional Library  presents a Cosplay Celebration on Monday, June 12 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Cosplayers are people who have a passion for costuming and performance art. Fans of many different film, television shows, and comics celebrate their appreciation by dressing up as their favorite characters and transforming into them.

Make a cool costume, practice your acting skills, and wear your favorite fashion accessories as you pay tribute to your heroes.

Cosplay is a great way to come out of your shell and talk with other people who share the same interests. Come geek out with us in your best costume. There will be a costume contest, a photo booth to capture your favorite memories, and even a cosplay workshop with a pro!

We will be welcoming Xavier Conley of Ebony Warrior Studios to talk about cosplay and teach participants the best way to make props out of foam. Xavier is not only a professional, but he is a winner of SyFy Channel’s Cosplay Melee.

All ages are welcome.

In order to participate, please register by calling (678) 398-5834 or visit the Youth Services Reference Desk at South Cobb Regional Library.

To experience more fun in pop culture, we invite you to join South Cobb Regional Library’s Anime Club the 2nd Monday of every month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. We watch various anime shows and follow up by chatting and doing an activity.

*Participants must have a signed permission form to participate. Permission forms available at South Cobb Regional Library’s Children’s desk*
