College Financial Planning at Mountain View Regional Library on Monday, October 12, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dan Clark from the Society for Financial Awareness (SOFA) will address how to prepare for the financial cost of college. How to Create a Successful Resume on Wednesday, October 14 is the next program in the Employment Workshop Series presented by Jewish Family & Career Services at South Cobb Regional Library each Wednesday in October. Each workshop is from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The workshops are free; registration is required. Budgeting and Money Management will be presented at South Cobb Regional Library on Thursday, October 15, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and at Mountain View Regional Library on Monday, October 19, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both free sessions by ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions will include advice on how to budget and manage savings and specific ways to and means of reducing expenses immediately. The program Consumer Fraud and Scams will be presented by the Metro Atlanta Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) from Cobb Senior Services at Kemp Memorial Library on Thursday, October 15, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Learn how to identify and protect yourself against mail fraud, bank fraud, cybercrime, identity theft and more. Legal Aid – An Overview of Services at South Cobb Regional Library on Saturday, October 24, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Legal Aid of Cobb County provides civil legal services for many types of cases including Government Benefits, Consumer Law, Family Law & Domestic Relations; Education, Housing, Health, Employment and other civil legal services. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for individuals to speak directly and briefly with an attorney about particular civil legal issues. Free and open to the public. No reservations required.
