Did you know that there are 16 branches of the Cobb County Public Library System? Each one is special in its own way! We’re highlighting each of them in an ongoing series we’re calling “In the Spotlight.” (Take a look at our previous entries here.)
Today, we’re at the Kennesaw Library. This location, nestled in the heart of downtown Kennesaw, is a smaller building, but it’s much bigger than the first library opened in Kennesaw in 1963. That first location was only 20′ x 30′! The library began as a dream of the Kennesaw Woman’s Club, which founded the location with the support of the Kennesaw City Council. Demand for library services has only increased since then – so much that a new building was built in 1967 and then expanded in 1989.
Please note: The Kennesaw Library will be closed Friday, August 9-Saturday, August 10 for HVAC maintenance. The branch will reopen for regular hours on Monday, August 12.
