Teen Tech Week 2019 is officially March 3-9. Cobb County Public Libraries are showcasing digital resources and more throughout March – and year-round – to encourage teens to become competent users of technology and to have fun.

The theme of Teen Tech Week is “Get Connected @ your Library” and several Cobb libraries are hosting free special events for teens.

Upcoming tech and science programs in March include:

Tech Tutoring Tuesdays at West Cobb Regional Library, every Tuesday, 2 – 4 pm. Reserve free 30 minute sessions for one-on-one tech tutoring. 770-528-4699

Teen Tech: littleBits at East Cobb Library on Saturday, March 2, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Build your own creation with littleBits, electronic building blocks that snap together to make inventions come alive. Space is limited. Registration is required. Call 770-509-2730 to register.

3D Printing for Teens at Switzer Library on Tuesday, March 5, 5:30 pm – 7 pm. Join in the to explore 3D printing tech. No registration is required. Ages 11-18. 770-528-2320

Premiere Pro for Beginners at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center on Tuesday, March 5, 7 pm – 8 pm. Learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro, a timeline-based editing program. Space is limited, and registration is required. Register here: Premiere Pro Sign-Up. Ages 14 and older. 770-509-2711

Tween STEAM: Coding with Beads at Powder Springs Library on Monday, March 11, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. Learn how to spell your name in code and then take that unique code and turn it into jewelry. 770-439-3600

Financial Aid 101 at Switzer Library on Thursday, March 14, 3:30 pm – 5 pm. Marcus Hilliard, Outreach Representative of the Georgia Student Finance Commission, will be answering questions about financial aid and state aid programs for college students. 770-528-2320

Georgia State Unversity’s Bio-Bus at South Cobb Regional Library on Wednesday, March 20, 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Experience science with hands-on activities and demonstrations about the Chemistry: States of Matter. Space is limited. Sessions at 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm, and 5:30 pm. Tween STEAM: Spheros at Powder Springs Library on Monday, March 25, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. Learn how to code a robot and then guide it through a maze. 770-439-3600

Teen Virtual Reality Program at Switzer Library on Tuesday, March 26, 5 pm – 7:30 pm. Teens will get the opportunity to try out VR games, paint with Tiltbrush or ride a rollercoaster with our HTC Vive virtual reality system. 770-528-2320

For aspiring children interested in technology in grades K-5, CCPLS has partnered with The Atlanta Science Festival for CCPLS Family Tech Time at Mountain View Regional Library on Saturday, March 16 from 1 pm – 4:30 pm. Kids will get a hands-on preview of upcoming STEM programs. (770) 509-2725.
