Free Georgia ParkPass kits are available at Cobb County Public Library System locations as the winter holiday season is underway. ParkPass kits provide free entry into Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites.

GetOutdoorsGeorgiaThe ParkPass kits may be checked-out for one week. The kits include a park pass for up to four visitors, a parking pass and site guide. Availability is limited. You may reserve the kit at any CCPLS library branch or by clicking here.

All park entrances to Georgia’s state parks will be open on Christmas and New Year’s Day, with most park offices closed on the holidays, officials recently announced.

Nearby State Parks and Historic Sites include Sweetwater Creek State Park, Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site, Red Top Mountain State Park, and Pickett’s Mill Battlefield Historic Site. State Parks across Georgia include Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge, New Echota Historic Site, Fort Mountain State Park, Cloudland Canyon State Park, Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site, Unicoi State Park and Lodge, Don Carter State Park, Vogel State Park and Stephen C. For the Christmas holiday, Cobb libraries will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 and re-open on Saturday, December 27. For the New Year’s holiday, the libraries will close on Wednesday, December 31 and re-open on Friday, January 2.
