Columbian novelist Gabriel Garcia Márquez is being remembered an iconic figure of world literature. The 1982 winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and widely recognized as one of the most influential figures of Latin America, he died April 17 at age 87. Márquez is known for creating works of magical realism read by millions of readers.
Novels by the acclaimed author in Cobb County Public Library System’s Adult Collection include One Hundred Years of Solitude and the original in Spanish, Cien años de soledad; Love in the Time of Cholera, and Chronicle of a Death Foretold.
