Stratton Library is hosting special events during Spring Break week for teens and young adults seeking job opportunities, including a Job Fair with several area employers on Thursday afternoon.
The Teen Resume Writing and Interviewing Skills Workshop presented by WorkSource Cobb (formerly CobbWorks) is Tuesday, April 4 from 1 pm to 3 pm. The Teens/Young Adults Job Fair is slated for Thursday, April 6 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Participants signed up for the April 6th Job Fair include Cobb County P.A.R.K.S. Department, Lowe’s, Six Flags, Job Corps, WorkSource Cobb/CobbWorks, Army National Guard, Marshall’s, Kroger, Sprouts Farmers Market, Waffle House, McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s, Food Depot, PetSmart, Burlington Coat Factory, Sears Pool Management, CarMax Auto Finance and Brunswick. The participants list may change.
Youth Services Librarian Angela Mbagwu is the organizer for the Teens/Young Adults Job Fair. The event – occurring as many area students are on Spring Break – supports young people seeking summer jobs and exploring career paths, she said.
“The Job Fair at Stratton is high energy and you get a strong sense that connections for employment are happening here in the library,” she said. “Several individuals have stepped forward to give positive reports about their success at the Job Fair in past years.”
The Job Fair and workshop are free and open to the public. Please bring your resume and dress in professional attire. Reservations are not required.
