Catch a movie – and get out of the heat – during summer break at Cobb County Public Library System locations. Several free movie screenings are part of the library’s 2014 Summer Reading Program.

The Movie Smash Up film series at Powder Springs Library starting Friday, June 6 at 2 p.m. Screenings are also scheduled for June 14, June 21, June 27, July 12, July 18, and July 26.

Friday Film Fest at East Cobb Library starts June 6 at 2 p.m. and runs Fridays through July, except July 4. “Literary Elements” is the theme of the series of blockbuster films based on literary classics.

The children’s Fizz, Boom, Movies! series at Switzer Library is Saturdays at 3 p.m. in June and July, starting June 7.

Family Movie Matinee at Gritters Library, Mondays at 3 p.m., June and July.

The Switzer Library film series for Mondays, starting at 6 p.m., will feature Civil War films in June and Sci-Fi films in July.

Pajama Family Flicks at East Cobb Library on Mondays at 7 p.m., from early June through July.

The Reel Reaction for Teens film series at Mountain View Regional Library starts Monday, June 16, 3 p.m. Other dates include Saturday screenings at 3 p.m. on June 21; June 28; July 5; and July 26.
