The first of four creative writing workshops at the Switzer Library for K-3 elementary students interested in entering the GPB-PBS KIDS Writers Contest is Thursday, March 7, 4 pm – 5 pm.

The Writing Workshops will be held every Thursday in March from 4 pm – 5 pm. Each session will cover a variety of writing tools such as brainstorming, revising, and illustrating.

After kids have finished their stories they can enter them into the Writers Contest, sponsored by Georgia Public Broadcasting.

The contest encourages children to submit their original works for prizes and a chance to be featured on the GPB website. In addition to that, if a story incorporates science, technology, engineering, arts, or math it will be eligible to win the STEAM award.

The deadline for contest entries is March 29.
