April is Family and Consumer Sciences Month in Cobb County. Starting on April 4th, join the UGA Cobb Extension staff for a four-part series of free classes and demonstrations at Cobb County libraries to celebrate FACS month. Each event will include samples of a healthy dish for you to try along with the recipe so you can make it at home.

couponsEach class is scheduled for 6:30 pm to 8 pm, including:

April 4: Atmosphere Matters/Clean Safely & $ave at the Switzer Library in downtown Marietta. This class will be about de-cluttering and “Green Cleaning” recipes for healthier and less costly cleaning products.

April 11: Make Ahead Mediterranean Meals at the East Cobb Library. Meal time can be made easy by making meals in advance. In this demonstration you will learn how to make healthy one dish Mediterranean meals that you can enjoy all week long.

April 19:  Couponing in the Digital Age at the South Cobb Regional Library in Mableton. In this class you will learn how to organize and use coupons to cut your shopping budget and even get free items.

April 25: Freeze Me, Don’t Let Me Go To Waste at the West Cobb Regional Library. We watch food go bad and then toss it out, so why not preserve it by freezing it while it is still fresh? Come out and learn what foods can be frozen and how you can save money by freezing many fruits, veggies and cooked foods.
