Farm Fresh Market, a program for supplying fresh fruits and vegetables to residents in the Austell area, is launching on May 5.

FarmFreshMarketThe Farm Fresh Market program addresses the challenge of access to healthy, affordable food for residents without a nearby supermarket. The weekly markets are for residents in the areas of Six Flags Drive or ZIP code 30168.

An initiative of Cobb2020’s Healthy Lifestyles Team, Farm Fresh Market is spearheaded by Becky Shipley, Executive Director of McCleskey-East Cobb & Northeast Cobb YMCA. The overall Cobb2020 program is a partnership of community groups and individuals promoting healthy lifestyles for Cobb residents.

“The produce will be offered at a significantly reduced price as well to make it more accessible,” Shipley said of Farm Fresh Market.

The markets will offer grocery bags for $5 each and customers are allowed to choose from 15 items of healthy produce. Supplies are limited.

Markets will be open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 5 through September 30, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on the following days and locations in Austell:

  • Mondays: Walton Reserve Apartment Community, 7075 Walton Reserve Lane
