Several science-themed events are scheduled for Thursday at Cobb County Public Library System locations as part of the 2014 Summer Reading Program.
The free July 10 events lineup includes:
Kemp’s Thursday Special Programs: The Bear Went Over the Mountain at Kemp Memorial Library, 11 a.m. to noon. The children’s story time program is presented by Cobb County PARKS’ Natural Resource Management Unit. Information: (770) 528-2527.
Water loving Wonderkins: A Stratton Summer Science Event at Stratton Library, noon to 1 p.m. The program for school age children will feature water experiments. Information: (770) 528-2522.
Fizz, Boom, Experiment! at Switzer Library, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The program of scientific experiments is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade.
Paper Airplane Origami at Gritters Library, 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Create amazing things out of paper! Grades 6-12. Registration is required. Information: (770) 528-2524.
Paper Bag Dramatics at East Cobb Library, 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Participants put on short plays using props in paper bags. For rising 3rd graders and up.
