YA Authors Discussion and Signing

Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center

March 17 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Meet YA authors Laura Silverman, Rachael Allen, Lauren Karcz, Gina Ciocca, and Marie Marquardt at the Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center! Enjoy an afternoon with these five authors as they discuss their novels. Come hear how they get their ideas, set their scenes, and work their magic!

This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Laura Silverman is an author and editor. She earned her MFA in Writing for Children at the New School and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Girl out of Water is her first novel. You can follow her on Twitter at @LJSilverman1.

Rachael Allen is a mad scientist by day and YA writer by night. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, two children, and a dire wolf. She loves homemade peach ice cream, having adventures all over the world, and stories that make her feel like she’s been poured inside another person.

Lauren Karcz is a fan of new books, old dogs, long sentences, Broadway shows, adverbs, and wandering art museums. She’s a professional language nerd, having worked as an ESL teacher, a language test developer, and now as a writer. Lauren lives with her family in Atlanta. The Gallery of Unfinished Girls is her debut novel.

Gina Ciocca graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in English, but in her mind, she never left high school. She relocated from Connecticut to Georgia, where she lives with her husband and son. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her taking long walks around the lake in her neighborhood. Gina can also be found online at writersblog- gina.blogspot.com, on Instagram as gmciocca, and Twitter as gmc511.

Marie Marquardt is the author of three YA novels: The Radius of Us, Dream Things True, and Flight Season. When not writing books, she works as a college professor and advocate alongside Latin American immigrants to the South. She is chair of El Refugio, a non-profit that serves detained immigrants and their families. Marie lives with her spouse, four kids, a dog and a bearded dragon in the book-lover’s mecca of Decatur, Georgia.
