Using Census Data to Inform Communities

South Cobb Regional Library

Tuesday, September 17 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Organizations need a Complete Count of the people in areas they serve to inform decision-making. Leaders and volunteers of non-profits, businesses, faith communities and educators are invited to explore the importance of a Complete Count for the 2020 Census with Anh (Luke) Nguyen, Data Dissemination Specialist of the U.S. Census Bureau. Examine data resources and strategies for using data on the community population, demographics, business data and more with a data expert.

Census data impacts funding and decisions about education, healthcare, transportation, emergency services and social services resources. The Census results are used to shape the boundaries for federal, state and local government elected representation. Census data is a major resource for shaping decisions  about business investment, small business growth, public safety, health, education, and more.
