Join us at Switzer Library to help celebrate Black History Month by taking part in the National African American Read-In. Read a 3 to 5 minute excerpt from your favorite Black author. Feel free to bring your own selection to read or make a selection from books on hand. Remember to keep the reading suitable for all ages.
The National African American Read-In is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in literature. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month. This initiative has reached more than 6 million participants around the world. (http://www2.ncte.org/get-involved/african-american-read-in/)
