Men’s Book Club @ East Cobb
Saturday, March 14 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm| Free
This book club meets the second Saturday of each month from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. We read and discuss multiple genres: horror, military, sci-fi, etc. Although, called the Men’s Book Club, women are certainly welcome. On March 14 we will be reading and discussing “The Iceman” by Peter T. Deutermann. Set in 1942 World War II, Lieutenant Commander Malachi Stormes is the captain of a new breed of U.S. submarines. His orders are to monitor the Pacific Ocean for Japanese movements. Stormes quickly distinguishes himself as the most efficient destroyer of Japanese ships, but at what cost? His tactics are ruthless and risky and his crew frightened by his no-holds barred attitude. Dubbed “The Iceman” by his crew, will Stormes risk everything for his mission, even at the cost of all of his ships and crew?
