Meet The Poets: Spoken Word Showcase and Open Mic

Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center

Join us for a Spoken Word Showcase in the Black Box Theater which will also include an opportunity for crowd participation with an Open Mic! Hosted by MasterPeace, our featured showcase poets are: Mr. B Rock, Camille Victoria, and Justin Patton.

*Musical guest and book signings will following the show. *This is a family friendly event.

Mr. B Rock – Author of ‘Artistic Slave’ — Nationally touring spoken word musician and chief craftsman of Poetry PINS, Mr B Rock was born in Baltimore, MD earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Creative Writing and Literature at North Carolina A&T State University. After undergrad he launched several artistic projects including poetry and music concerts, live performance productions, musical audio compilations, and 2 national tours.

Camille Victoria – Author of ‘Seventh Rhythm-A Poetic Work Of Faith’ — Camille Victoria recited her first spoken word piece at the age of 17 in memorial of her friend Rajaan Bennett who was selflessly murdered. After performing the piece at a showcase in Honor of Bennett’s mother, Camille decided to keep writing and has since performed her original pieces for singer/actor Tyrese Gibson, Revered Run, business leaders in the southeast, and often at open mic nights in the heart of Atlanta. Writing is Camille’s deepest passion and she has expressed that “spoken word has helped [her] to survive, heal, and grow.”

Justin Patton – Author of ‘Poetry For The Hopefully’ — Justin Patton is a spoken word artist, scholar, and author of ‘Poetry for the Hopefully’. Justin performs spoken word around the country, and uses his poetry to inspire and encourage creativity. As well being a writer, Justin is a Public Servant in his community.
