Introduction to 3D Printing for Adults

Are you curious about 3D printers and want to see one in action?
Come to this class and learn the basics of using a 3D printer, the benefits of 3D printing, and how to print a file for yourself. You will also have the chance to submit an object file to print.
Space is limited to 7 participants who will be using our library computers. However, 2 additional spots can be added, if additional participants are willing to bring their own laptops and are able to install the 3D software. Contact us about installation or come early to install the software. Register by calling 678-398-5831.
For adults 17 and older.
Knowledge of Basic Computer skills, which include basic keyboarding, mouse manipulation, and navigating a website, is required.
Participants must bring a clean USB flash drive in order to download a 3D design file.
Library 3D Printing information:
The cost of printing a 3D object is currently 15 cents per gram of filament used in the printing process, with a minimum charge of $2.50. Participants of this class will have the minimum fee waived, but must pay for any filament used over 17 grams to print their entire 3D object.
