Harry Potter and the Library Book Club [Virtual]
Monday, January 4, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 6:00 pm on Monday, repeating until Monday, April 26, 2021
PLEASE NOTE: This program will occur online and will not take place in the library.
Adult Potterheads, now is your time to shine! Inspired by the hit podcast Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, this reading group will come together to dive deep and attempt to unearth the answer to the question: “What if we read the books we love as if they were sacred texts?”.
Following podcast runners Vanessa and Casper’s lead in format, we will meet virtually every other week, do a quick summary of the reading, then we’ll discuss one chapter each week through a selected theme. We will attempt traditional sacred reading practices together and finish up with our blessings or hopes for characters.
We will use these practices to help us think deeper and pull meaning from a book series which has influenced the lives of so many readers. Anyone who has felt inspired by or used the Harry Potter series as a comfort can find a wealth of belonging with our group! Those who may find issues with the series or might even be reading for the first time are invited to explore with us! All are welcome here.
Meetings will be held through Google Meet and invitations will be sent through email.
