Event Navigation

The East Cobb Library is proud to host the Girl Talk East Cobb Chapter. Girl Talk is an organization that strives to make girls confident leaders through peer to peer mentoring programs. Each chapter is a forum for interaction between high school girls (mentors) and middle school girls (mentees). Teenage girls come together and find strength in each other through learning new skills and creating a support network. High school girls develop leadership skills as they guide meetings for middle school girls, and middle school girls learn vital skills during their most formative years. Topics range from life skills and academic habits to personal topics like body image and relationships. The high school student leading this program is Ostara Maharaj from Walton High School. She will be assisted by 3 or 4 other Walton High School students who are very enthusiastic about presenting this program. In addition to high school leaders, an adult adviser oversees each program. For more information please visit the website at https://mygirltalk.org/
The program is free to all attendees and no registration is required. For more information please contact Nisha Maharaj, at nishamaharaj@hotmail.com
